Community Guidelines

Welcome to Jon’s Home. This is a community built around the idea of being a guest in someone’s home. Come in, hang out, share, disagree, joke around, and be yourself — but respect the people who are here with you.
These Community Guidelines apply to public and community areas of Jon’s Home, including forums, Shower Thoughts, comments, replies, profiles, reactions, reposts, and other interactive features.
1. Treat People Like Guests
You do not have to agree with everyone, and friendly arguments, debates, jokes, and different opinions are welcome.
However, disagreement is not an excuse to repeatedly attack, threaten, intimidate, or deliberately harass another person.
Talk to people the way you would expect guests in your own home to treat each other.
2. No Harassment or Bullying
Do not use Jon’s Home to:
- Repeatedly target or harass another user.
- Threaten or intimidate someone.
- Encourage others to target a person.
- Deliberately follow someone around the platform to provoke them.
- Use comments, replies, messages, reports, or other features to continue unwanted harassment.
Disagreements happen. Persistent harassment is different.
3. No Hateful Abuse
Content that attacks, degrades, threatens, or encourages harm toward people based on protected characteristics is not permitted.
Discussion of controversial subjects may be allowed when it is part of a legitimate conversation and is not being used to target or abuse people.
4. No Sexual Exploitation or Abusive Sexual Content
Content involving sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual material, or sexual content involving minors is prohibited.
Content that violates applicable law or creates a serious safety risk may be removed immediately and may result in account termination.
5. Protect Everyone’s Privacy
Do not post another person's private or sensitive information without permission.
This includes information such as:
- Home addresses.
- Private phone numbers or email addresses.
- Passwords or login credentials.
- Financial information.
- Government identification numbers.
- Private documents.
- Other information that could reasonably put someone’s privacy or safety at risk.
Information someone chooses to make public about themselves does not give others permission to expose additional private information.
6. Be Yourself — Don’t Impersonate Others
Do not pretend to be another person or intentionally create an account designed to deceive people about who you are.
Parody, jokes, usernames, and fictional identities are generally fine when they are not being used to fraudulently impersonate or harm someone.
7. No Spam, Scams, or Manipulation
Do not use Jon’s Home to:
- Flood discussions with repetitive content.
- Post deceptive or malicious links.
- Run scams or fraudulent schemes.
- Artificially manipulate reactions, reposts, reports, or other platform activity.
- Create accounts primarily to advertise, spam, or disrupt conversations.
Sharing something you created, a business, project, website, or useful link is not automatically spam. Context and behavior matter.
8. Keep Illegal and Dangerous Activity Off the Platform
Do not use Jon’s Home to facilitate illegal activity, credible threats of violence, or activity intended to seriously harm another person.
Discussion of news, personal experiences, education, safety, or controversial subjects is not automatically a violation simply because the subject involves illegal or dangerous activity.
9. No Malicious Files or Attacks
Do not upload, distribute, or link to malware or intentionally harmful files.
Do not attempt to:
- Access another user's account.
- Bypass authentication or security controls.
- Exploit vulnerabilities.
- Attack Jon’s Home infrastructure.
- Interfere with the service.
- Access administrative areas without authorization.
- Circumvent restrictions placed on your account.
Finding a bug is not a violation. Intentionally exploiting it or using it to harm the service or its users is.
10. Keep Public Areas Public-Safe
Some parts of Jon’s Home can be viewed by people who are not signed in.
Before posting publicly, remember that your post, username, comments, profile information, or other activity may be visible outside the Jon’s Home community and may potentially be shared elsewhere.
Do not post something publicly that you expect Jon’s Home to keep private.
11. Sharing Content Outside Jon’s Home
Jon’s Home may provide tools that allow users to share public posts or project pages to external services such as Facebook.
If you post something in a public area, other users may be able to share a link or preview of that content outside Jon’s Home.
Private or restricted content should not be intentionally exposed through public sharing features.
12. Use Reports Responsibly
If something violates these Guidelines, report it instead of escalating the situation.
Reports should be made in good faith.
Do not repeatedly submit false reports, coordinate reports against someone simply because you dislike them, or use the reporting system as another form of harassment.
Reporting content does not automatically mean it will be removed. The content and surrounding context may be reviewed first.
13. Moderation
Moderators and administrators may take action when necessary to protect the community or enforce these Guidelines and the Terms of Service.
Actions may include:
- Removing or hiding content.
- Issuing warnings.
- Restricting features.
- Limiting account access.
- Temporarily suspending an account.
- Permanently removing an account.
Moderation decisions may consider the context, severity, frequency, intent, and history of violations.
Not every mistake requires a ban, and not every situation will receive the same response.
14. Don’t Evade Moderation
Do not create additional accounts or use other methods to intentionally bypass a suspension, restriction, block, or other moderation action.
Attempts to evade enforcement may result in additional restrictions or permanent removal.
15. Use Common Sense
No set of Community Guidelines can predict every situation.
Something does not automatically become acceptable simply because it is not specifically listed here.
When unusual situations occur, administrators and moderators may use reasonable judgment based on the purpose of these Guidelines: protect the community, allow people to express themselves, and keep Jon’s Home enjoyable to use.
16. These Guidelines May Change
Jon’s Home will continue to evolve, and these Guidelines may change as new community features are introduced or new situations arise.
When significant changes are made, the version and effective date on this page will be updated.
